Sarah Woolfenden was born in Lancashire, England on December 8, 1810. She married Daniel Holmes in Bury, Lancashire, England on August 20, 1843, and died in Gold Flat, California on May 15, 1892. Her father Isaac Woolfenden died at age 99.

Death of Mrs. Sarah Holmes
“Mrs. Sarah Holmes, mother of Mrs. C. W. Beedle. died in this city Sunday morning. Her age was nearly 82 years. The funeral took place this afternoon from the Congregational Church. Mrs. Holmes was a very old resident of this city, and was a lady very highly esteemed by all who knew her.”
